Dr. Dental has four offices in New Jersey – Clifton, Lyndhurst, Hackensack and Edison – and all four accept the major dental insurance plans listed below. If you’ve got Delta, Aetna, Cigna, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield or one of the other plans on the list, you can book at whichever office is closest and we’ll handle the insurance side.

With an in-network plan, preventive visits (exam, cleaning, x-rays) are typically covered in full, fillings mostly, and crowns and other major work about half, up to your plan’s yearly maximum. Before any treatment beyond a cleaning, you get a written estimate showing what your plan pays and what’s left for you. We file the claims for you.
Plan not listed? Call the office with the plan name and your member ID. Network participation changes over time, and the front desk can usually confirm yours in a couple of minutes.
NJ FamilyCare (New Jersey Medicaid)
NJ FamilyCare includes dental benefits for children and adults, administered through the member’s managed care plan (Horizon NJ Health, Aetna Better Health, Wellpoint, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan and Fidelis Care). Whether we can see you depends on which plan you’re enrolled in. Call the office before booking, tell them your plan, and they’ll confirm whether we’re in that network and what your visit will cost.
No insurance?
You can still be seen, and the first visit won’t break the budget. A $57 new patient cleaning includes the cleaning, exam, bitewing x-rays and a written treatment plan. If a specific tooth is the problem, the $25 look-and-see visit covers an exam, x-rays of that area and a plan. Both are on our specials page. For larger treatment we offer monthly payment plans, and our Lyndhurst office has orthodontists on staff with braces from $137 a month. See payment options.

Clifton, Lyndhurst and Hackensack are all within about 20 minutes of each other in Bergen and Passaic counties, so if one office is booked, another can usually see you sooner. Edison serves Middlesex County and Route 1 commuters.

Which New Jersey office has an orthodontist?
Lyndhurst. Braces and Invisalign are available there from $137 a month, and no referral is needed.

A new patient special, with cleaning, exam, x-rays and treatment plan, is $57. A problem-focused exam with x-rays is $25. Larger treatment can be split into monthly payments.
