Giving back – whether it’s through good patient care or community events – is something we pride ourselves on at Dr. Dental. In the past, we’ve partnered with organizations like United Way and even sent oral hygiene kits to soldiers serving our country overseas. We’re always looking around to see who we can make SMILE next.
Recently, we had the opportunity to visit the Child Learning Center in Stamford, Conn. to discuss the importance of good oral care. The kids had fun asking us questions about teeth and we were excited to share our knowledge, along with complimentary toothbrushes. We played games and had a great time chatting about the best ways to brush.
We also worked together to raise funds for the Team Hole in the Wall race, which supports the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a summer camp located in Ashford, Conn., started by celebrity Paul Newman. The camp caters to children coping with cancer and other serious illnesses and conditions and serves more than 20,000 people annually.
Since the camp is provided to the children and their families free of charge, fundraisers are a must. Our Dr. Dental team was able to raise $1,940 for the cause, collecting money from our employees, friends and family. These funds will ensure a child and their family gets to go to camp and we couldn’t be more proud! In addition to raising funds, our team also participated in the event’s 5K and half marathon races.
